NATIONAL Apprenticeship Week which starts on Monday has been welcomed by a Wharfedale councillor.
This year’s event will include a number of events in the Leeds area, including an awards ceremony at the Civic Hall next Tuesday.
Councillor Sandy Lay (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) said: “I welcome National Apprenticeship Week.
“I know how much apprenticeships are helping our young people prepare for the world of work.
“I am so pleased the Government has put in place a programme that gives them the skills, knowledge and experience they need,” he added.
