PUPILS at a Horsforth school have scored an impressive hat-trick in their recorder exams.
Three youngsters from Froebelian School – including two sisters – all achieved high distinctions in their Grade 1 recorder exam. Head teacher John Tranmer said: “Congratulations to Jonty Mighell, Sophia Papagiannopoulos and Christina Papagiannopoulos.
“They only started studying for these exams in September so this is a wonderful achievement.”
Jonty said: “I really enjoy playing the recorder. Now is the Month of Maying was my favourite song, it is fast and fun to play.”
The Associated Board of Music Exams Recorder Exam is test of ability and includes playing three pieces, scales and arpeggios, sight-reading and aural tests.
