PROCEEDS from carol singing by Otley Rotarians is to be shared out between three charities.
The Rotary Club of Otley Chevin raised £1,800 by singing in the run-up to Christmas and donations will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, Martin House Children’s Hospice, and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
A quiz night at the Wetherby Whaler, in Guiseley, was also well supported and generated more than £600.
Cheques were presented on the evening to representatives from Macmillan Cancer Support and Martin House. The club has also been fundraising for a publicly accessible defibrillator for the centre of Otley.
The project got a £50 boost from a collection at the Otley Christmas Tree Festival, and enough money has now been raised to proceed.
