THIS year’s Ilkley Beer Festival is fast approaching, but there are still opportunities to get hold of tickets and benefit from last year’s fundraising.

Ilkley Round Table is again aiming to raise thousands of pounds for good causes with its annual beer festival, taking place at the King’s Hall and W inter Garden in Ilkley on Friday, February 6 and Saturday, February 7.

The Friday evening session will open at 5.30pm and closes at 11pm, Saturday afternoon session will open at 11am and continues until 4pm. The Saturday evening session is 5pm to 11pm Although advance tickets for the three sessions of the festival sold out some time ago, beer connoisseurs have another chance to get into this year’s festival, as a limited number of tickets will be available on the door.

And organiser Ilkley Round Table says it still has money remaining from its fundraising efforts in 2014, and is still looking for nominations for local causes to support.

As in previous years the festival will offer more than 100 beers and ciders, totalling more than 18,000 pints.

The festival will feature brewery bars, with some new additions this year.

Bars will be set up by breweries including: Old Spot, Wharfedale, Ilkley, Goose Eye, Saltaire and Northern Monk.

Entertainment will be provided by Leeds Male Voice Choir on Saturday afternoon and Emley Brass Band Friday and Saturday night.

Food will be available from Ilkley butcher Lishman’s.

In addition to the beer festival, members of Ilkley Round Table were out before Christmas raising money with the Santa Float.

The Round Table wants to thank all those who supported them in Addingham and Ilkley.

Through the generosity of the community, over the five evenings, members collected in excess of £2,000.

The beer festival is Ilkley Round Table’s largest source in making funds.

It donates funds to worthy causes principally based in Ilkley and the immediate area, supporting a wide range of causes.

These range from children’s sports teams to senior citizens groups, refurbishment of club premises to equipment purchases for those with both learning and physical disabilities.

The Round Table still has funds remaining from 2014 to donate.

Anyone who could benefit from from funds raised through Ilkley Round Table’s charitable activities, or who knows of anyone who could benefit locally, is asked to contact by emailing communityservice@ilkleyroundta ble.org.uk
