AN MP has welcomed news that causes in his constituency have received more than £15 million in lottery funding over the past 20 years.
Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, says 282 projects benefitted from the money.
Speaking after the 20 year anniversary of The National Lottery, Mr Andrew said: “In the past two decades, National Lottery players have raised over £32 billion for good causes, and I am so pleased that over £15.5 million has been invested in the Pudsey area. Most recently, money was given to Yarnbury RFC and Leeds Trinity University.
“The Heritage Lottery Fund awarded a grant of £10,000 this year to help publish material directly related to Horsforth and its role in the First World War. It is important that we continue to support causes such as this, which directly benefit from the excellent work that the National Lottery help to carry out.”
