RESIDENTS in Pool-in-Wharfedale can find out more about their work-in-progress Neighbourhood Plan early next year.

The village’s Neighbourhood Plan steering committee is holding a drop-in day at the village hall on Saturday, February 7, to explain more about the scheme.

The 11am to 3pm event will also be a chance for people to suggest their own ideas for a document that will, once adopted, help shape the development of Pool over the next 20 years.

A committee spokesman said: “We are preparing a plan based on the views and aspirations of the community to preserve the history and character of our village and encourage a responsible, innovative and sustainable future for Pool. Your contribution to and support for this plan is essential.”

Any businesses or community groups who would like to take part on the day are asked to send an email to poolinwharfedale@gmail.com, by January 16, to book a place.

Neighbourhood Plans give communities more of a say in the development of their local area.
