WORK has started on the new cricket nets in Addingham.

The project has been financed by the Independent ward councillors for Addingham and Craven, Cllr Chris Atkinson and Cllr Adrian Naylor.

The nets are expected to cost about £15,000 and be finished in time for pre-season practice.

Craven ward councillor Chris Atkinson said: “Given the wet year we had last year it seemed that our teams needed a facility to enable them to minimise any disruption to their training caused by the weather.

“It is a pleasure to work with Cllr Adrian Naylor to secure as much investment in the village as we can.”
