AN MP is urging residents in Pool-in-Wharfedale to have a say about the future of their post office.

Post Office Ltd wants to move the village’s Main Street branch across to the Shell petrol station – a plan that has been branded irresponsible and dangerous by many residents and councillors.

MP Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North-West) says the company has also failed to consult with residents about the proposal, so has taken matters into his own hands.

He has arranged for a Pool Post Office Survey, which can also be completed online, to be delivered to homes across the village.

Mr Mulholland said: “As Pool’s MP, I am asking all residents to have their say on their local post office by filling in the survey, which will be presented to Post Office Ltd bosses.”

The form, which should be completed by Friday, December 5, can be filled in online at gregmulholland.org/poolpostoffice.
