CHILDREN at Ghyll Royd School supported Children in Need last Friday by dressing up as superheroes, from Captain America to Wonder Woman.
Pupils asked family and friends to sponsor them for donning their superhero outfits for the day and raised over £1,200. The children also enjoyed homemade Pudsey Bear buns during lunch.
Head teacher David Martin said: “The children really entered into the spirit of the theme this year with some outstanding superhero costumes and lots of creativity.
“The children’s enthusiasm to support Children in Need was overwhelming and I am astounded by the amount of sponsorship that they collected, £1,202 in total with some still to be collected.
“I am very pleased to be adding our donation to the tremendous figure that has been raised. ”
