LIFE-SAVING Community First Responders are being recruited at an open evening in Ben Rhydding on Tuesday (November 18).
CFRs are volunteers who provide immediate life-saving care to members of their local communities in an emergency medical situation, such as heart attack, breathing difficulties or a collapse, in the vital minutes before the ambulance arrives.
They are trained in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automatic external defibrillator (AED) which delivers a controlled electric shock to restart the heart. They also carry portable oxygen.
The CFR Scheme in Ilkley currently has three members on its books and more volunteers are wanted.
Find out more at the event at The Wheatley Arms, Wheatley Lane, Ben Rhydding, Ilkley, which starts at 6.30pm, with a presentation at 7pm.
