THE group campaigning for a footbridge across the River Wharfe at Burley-in-Wharfedale has delivered letters to all village homes asking residents to support the scheme.
Members of the Burley Bridge Association distributed the letters in their push for a campaign to provide a safe crossing of the Wharfe.
There are currently stepping stones across the river, but the association described them as “notoriously uncertain”.
Open discussion sessions arranged by the Burley Bridge Association have been very busy.
The association said in a statement this week: “Many local people seem attracted by the idea of being able to reach the north bank of the River Wharfe with a short walk from the village.”
Members of the public are asked to express their opinion before November 14, via the planning sections of Bradford Council and Harrogate Borough Council.
