A MENSTON woman has been recognised with an award for having made a difference to equality and diversity in the Civil Service.
The 2014 Civil Service Diversity & Equality Awards, presented at a ceremony in central London on October 10, honour the achievements of ordinary civil servants at the forefront of the drive for greater diversity and equality in the Civil Service.
They attracted over 150 nominations in six categories from across the civil service and from all parts of the country – an increase of 74 per cent over last year.
Claire Irvine, of Menston, won for her role in the Department for Work and Pensions Disability Confident Campaign Team.
Ms Irvine said: “I love working on the Disability Confident campaign. Getting more disabled people into work by encouraging employers to recognise and reward their talents is so important. It’s really great to have the recognition of the award and as we move into year two of the campaign.”
