HARRY Potter films star Matthew Lewis, his actor brother Anthony Lewis, and singer songwriter Rupert Stroud are to be special guests at an event raising money for the Alzheimer's Society.

The event is being organised at the Hollygarth Social Club, Leeds Road, Ilkley on September 20, by three Ilkley women.

Ilkley resident, Leanne Page-Moorhouse, works with dementia sufferers and their families, at Airedale Hospital and a nursing home.

She was inspired to raise money for the Alzheimer's charity by close friend, April Leather.

April, 24, who also lives in Ilkley, is studying a degree in social care by distance learning, while caring for her mother, who has dementia, at home.

Mrs Page-Moorhouse, 37, said: "She inspired me, really, because she looks after her mum. I've watched her struggle and seen the lack of support she's getting as a carer."

Another friend, Emma Andrews, who works for the Halifax bank, also got involved. The company, which is supporting The Alzheimer's Society as its chosen charity this year, has offered to match-fund the event if it manages to raise over £1,000.

Mr Stroud was last year made a champion of leading national Alzheimer's research charity Alzheimer's Research UK.

As well as a performance by Rupert Stroud and music proivded by a DJ, there will be a raffle and auction on the night.

Tickets for the event cost £8 each, to include supper. Posters with full details of the event have gone up at the Hollygarth and at businesses around Ilkley.
