A YEADON infant school is inviting parents to apply for nursery places which are still available for September 2014.

Yeadon Westfield, which has won praise from Ofsted inspectors, offers 52 flexible part-time places for three and four year olds. The school caters for young girls and boys between the ages of three and seven and has180 full-time places in all.

Children can go to five part-time, three-hourly sessions over the week. Parents are also being offered the opportunity to top-up their sessions at a cost of £10 per time including lunch.

The school received its last full Ofsted inspection in 2011, when it was rated as ‘Good’ with some ‘Outstanding’ features. It has also gained a number of awards including the Activemark, Inclusion Chartermark, the Healthy School Award, the Stephen Lawrence Standard and Investors in Pupils.

The Ofsted report said: "This is a good school where children achieve well as a result of good teaching, a strong emphasis on promoting personal development and above average attendance. Children enjoy school and are well prepared for the next steps in their education. The overwhelming majority of parents and carers say their children are happy, safe and well cared for at school."
