Tickets for Ilkley’s popular annual music gig Live at the Lido go on sale today, with high hopes of another sellout.

The concert, on Saturday, June 21, showcases new and emerging local bands and musicians and is now an established part of Ilkley’s summer calendar.

Organiser Becky Malby said: “Live is the only local event that offers so many people the opportunity to hear local bands and musicians and, of course, it all happens in the spectacular setting of the Lido.

“Last year we had over 600 people attend, all of whom had a great night.

“With the music-festival scene bigger than ever, it is great that Ilkley Lido hosts an event for all the family. We have a really strong line-up of bands this year and a variety of music to suit all ages. It’s not unusual to have three generations of a family attending Live, all dancing and singing along. It is such an enjoyable night.”

Doors will open at 4.30pm.

Menston-based The 1875 Restaurant is doing the catering, offering authentic Indian cuisine.

Ilkley Brewery will be there with a selection of cask ales. Wine, soft drinks, hot drinks and cakes will also be available.

Organised by Friends of Ilkley Lido, working with Bradford Council, all funds raised are used to help improve the Lido.

Louise Hale, the Friends’ chairwoman, said: “Live is a really enjoyable night for everyone who attends and the bands and musicians who perform.

“It is also an important fundraiser, providing much- needed cash that we use to help make the Lido a better place for local people and visitors.”

She added: “We have used funding from last year’s concert to pay towards the costs of restoring the original Lido benches and these will now be available for Lido users.”

Tickets for Live at the Lido are £10 for adults, £6 for students, with five adult tickets for the price of four.

They are available online at Eventbrite, from Friends of Ilkley Lido and from Ilkley Pool. Further information can be found on the Friends’ website: ilkleylido.co.uk or on Facebook – Live at the Lido.

The Lido is due to open later this month, with a launch event for the season on May 24.
