Ilkley Literature Festival, in collaboration with West Yorkshire Playhouse, will welcome Maxine Peake – known for her roles in TV's Silk and Shameless – to Ilkley’s King’s Hall on Sunday, June 8 at 7.30pm.
She will talk about her theatre writing debut for the West Yorkshire Playhouse – a specially commissioned adaptation of her acclaimed 2012 Radio 4 play celebrating the extraordinary sporting achievements of Morley cyclist Beryl Burton – with James Brining, artistic director of West Yorkshire Playhouse.
