Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis has called on rugby league players and fans to get involved in a campaign to promote the sport.

The actor is urging people to take part in the Let’s Talk Rugby League campaign being run by the sport’s governing body, the RFL.

Rugby league players, newcomers to the sport and dedicated fans are all being encouraged to share their experiences and opinions to help enhance the experience other people have from the sport.

Lewis, 24, from Horsforth, shot to fame as the character Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter series of films and has since appeared in hit BBC1 series The Syndicate, acclaimed film Wasteland and BBC Three series Bluestone 42.

He regularly watches his local team Leeds Rhinos and has already submitted his views He said: “As a keen rugby league fan, it’s great to see that the RFL are taking a big step forward by giving everyone involved in rugby league a voice to share their thoughts and experiences.

“The information that everyone submits will help the RFL in better understanding things from a fans’ or players’ point of view.
