The organisers of Ilkley Carnival are giving residents and motorists notice of disruption to traffic on Monday, May 5 2014.
Ilkley Carnival committee wants to let residents know that roads in and around the town centre will be closed, and no waiting cones will be set out, as the annual parade makes its way through the town centre.
The theme of the parade is the Tour of Yorkshire and the committee is busy planning fun and entertainment for the carnival field on the day.
A spokesman said: “The committee is looking forward to an exciting day and hope that everyone will once again support this event.”
The parade is one of the highlights of the event, proceeding from Grove Road, along The Grove, down Brook Street and New Brook Street, Middleton Avenue to East Holmes Field.
Organisers say the parade route will be marked out with’ no-waiting’ cones and Bradford Council will issue a road closure notice for the route between 11.30am and 1pm (roads can be reopened once it is safe to do so and by 1pm at the latest).
There will be no parking on the parade route and residents affected by the route are requested to find alternative parking from the morning of May 5, until after the parade has passed through the town.
