A leaflet detailing all the Easter services in Ilkley and Ben Rhydding is being delivered to every household over this week.

More than 50 events will take place in churches across the town between Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 20, reflecting the wide variety of ways that the Easter season is marked. Churches Together in Ilkley spokesman, Ruth Jones, said: “From all age interactive worship to quiet contemplative prayer, there is something for everyone. If you haven’t celebrated the spiritual side of Easter for a while why not try one of the services.”

The church congregations are coming together for two events in the town.

On Good Friday, April 18, there is an open invitation to meet at 11.15am outside All Saints Church on the corner of New Brook Street and Church Street for a ‘Walk of Witness’ to bless the town and its people.

On Easter Morning at 5.45am, people will meet at the Cow and Calf rocks to watch the sunrise and celebrate the end of the Easter story when Christians believe Jesus rose from the dead to finally bring mankind and God back in harmony again.
