Otley’s skyline is about to once again be dominated by the Chevin Cross.
The 36ft-high structure will be raised by volunteers on the top of the Chevin, at Surprise View, at 9.30am on Saturday.
The brainchild of the Otley Council of Christian Churches, the cross has provided a dramatic reminder of Easter every year since it first went up in 1969.
Anyone who would like to help pull it into place – a minimum of 50 people are needed – should gather at Surprise View, opposite The Royalty pub, at 9.15am.
