Wharfedale residents are being urged by their MP to sign up to a campaign which will take on the ‘Big Six’ energy companies for cheaper bills.

Philip Davies, Member of Parliament for Shipley, today urged local residents to sign up to The Big Deal campaign to beat the Big Six energy companies and save hundreds of pounds on their energy bills.

Mr Davies has himself signed up to the deal because the more people that get involved the more money that can be saved for everyone.

The Big Deal is a national campaign for cheaper energy. It brings people together to harness their collective buying power and deliver lower bills.

Launched nationwide this week, it has already received support from senior figures in every major party. Five thousand have already signed up in just a few days.

Mr Davies said: “Energy bills are one of the biggest worries for my constituents, who often feel powerless after years of price rises. That is why I am encouraging people in my constituency to sign up to The Big Deal. Together people might be able to save hundreds of pounds.”
