A theatrical group is looking for a suit of armour for its latest production.
Yeadon Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society is asking for public help to find the prop which is essential to the plot.
The group made its appeal amid rehearsals for the West End musical Me And My Girl, to be staged at Yeadon Town Hall in March.
Publicity officer Jayne King said the team in charge of finding props had a major headache.
“Usually at this point in the preparation of a major musical, it can get quite fraught, but the cast and crew are making fantastic progress – the props, though, are proving challenging.
“Having already had to source a tiger-skin rug, a rapier and a double-barrelled shotgun, the team is now looking for a suit of armour. It is crucial to the plot so we have got to find one from somewhere.
“If anyone can help or knows where we can locate a suit of armour, please give our secretary a ring on 0113 2503032.”
Me and My Girl runs from March 11 to 15 at Yeadon Town Hall. The musical comedy, which features the hit songs Leaning on a Lamppost, Sun Has Got His Hat On and The Lambeth Walk, premiered in the West End in 1985 with Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson in the leading roles. The script was revised by Stephen Fry.
