By Rail to Bolton Abbey is the title of a presentation being given by Mike Dixon at Christchurch, Ilkley.
Through archive photographs of the line’s construction, working and demolition, and contemporary views documenting its subsequent disappearance, Mr Dixon will trace the course of the railway through time and distance, to provide an insight into an important piece of local industrial and social history.
The talk takes place on Wednesday, February 26, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £4 (in aid of the Raise the Roof Appeal) and are available from the church office from 9am to 1pm (01943) 603209, Christchurch Café, Malcolm Atkinson (01943) 608479 or at the door, subject to availability.
