Postal workers in Otley were visited by their local MP last week.

Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North West) popped in to the town's sorting office to pass on his best wishes to the busy staff.

Mr Mulholland, who was also shown around the offices by managers, said: “It was fantastic to meet the hard working Royal Mail postmen and women at Otley sorting office.

“It was great to see first hand just how much effort they put into delivering for people at this time of year.

“Post workers provide such an important service, especially at this time of year. I would like to thank them for their efforts and wish them all the best over the busy festive period.”

Royal Mail delivery office manager at Otley, Dave Moore, said: “Otley normally delivers 114,000 letters and parcels a week and the week Greg visited we delivered 156,000!

"It was nice to see a Member of Parliament visiting to see how busy we are at the festive period."
