Bradford District Care Trust has welcomed David Banks as the latest addition to its board.

The NHS Trust Development Authority confirmed the appointment of Mr Banks as non-executive at Bradford District Care Trust.

He replaces Ian Cherry, who was appointed in March 2013 but who has since announced his plans to step down from the role due to ongoing work commitments.

David has in-depth financial experience from his previous roles including finance director at Zytronic and non-executive director at Castle Support Services.

He has more than 30 years’ experience within the financial sector.

He said: “It is both an exciting and challenging time to be joining Bradford District Care Trust. As with other NHS organisations nationally, the challenge is to continue to deliver high- quality care within ever reducing budgets.

“I am confident the trust can deliver great results despite its challenges. My financial experience gained in the private sector will add strength to the board in achieving this.”

Mr Banks has been appointed from December 2013 to November 2016 and is entitled to receive a remuneration of £6,157 per annum.

The trust serves local people in a range of services from health visiting and district nursing to community and hospital-stay mental-health care.

It is hoping to become a Foundation Trust during 2014.
