Otley’s oldest estate agent has opened its new town centre base.

Dacre, Son & Hartley, which has had a presence in the town for nearly 200 years, is now operating from refurbished offices on Bondgate.

Director and head of the Otley office David Phillip believes the move, which comes after being based on Station Road for the best part of a century, should boost trade.

He said: “We’ve operated in Otley for almost 200 years and during that time we’ve established a solid reputation for offering an unrivalled level of service and being at the forefront of the estate agency industry.

“As part of this we’re continually evolving as a business and relocating to Bondgate will help us carry on building on this. “The office is in a prominent town centre position and close to Sainsbury’s, which generates huge amounts of passing footfall, and we’re already seeing the benefits of this with our fantastic new window displays helping to draw in customers.

“Even though we invest heavily in technology, social media and our award-winning website, you can never underestimate the importance of a traditional shop window.”

Dacre, Son & Hartley – which has 20 offices in Yorkshire – is employing a six-strong team at the Bondgate office, which provides financial and survey advice as well as property sales and lettings services.
