Sixth-formers were given an insight into how Parliament works when their MP held an assembly at their school.
Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland held an assembly for students at Prince Henry’s Grammar School in Otley.
He gave a presentation on how Parliament works and what MPs do, both in the local constituency and in Westminster.
More than 250 students filled the hall to listen to the presentation and to ask questions about his work and the Parliamentary system.
The MP said: “I am delighted to be here today and to explain more about my work and that of the Government to the sixth-form students at Prince Henry’s.
“I was particularly impressed at how well informed the students were and I was asked some very good questions.
“It is always pleasantly surprising to see just how knowledgeable and engaged students are with politics and having done a number of these talks I am increasingly impressed with the students and their engagement with the political system.”
