Ilkley MP welcomes uplift for order books

Ilkley MP Kris Hopkins welcomed news of a rise in UK economic output.
It increased by 0.8 per cent between July and September, according to the Office of National Statistics.
The rise followed a 0.7 per cent increase in gross domestic product in the three-month period to June.
Mr Hopkins said: “This represents the UK economy’s best quarterly performance since 2010 and confirms that growth remains on an upward path back to prosperity. It is worth highlighting that success has been achieved across a range of sectors, including 2.5 per cent in construction, 0.9 per cent in manufacturing and 0.7 per cent in services.
“As housing minister I am particularly pleased to note that our Help to Buy scheme has given a significant boost to house-builders as we help increasing numbers of people realise their dreams of home ownership.” But he added: “There can be no cause for complacency as we continue efforts to quicken the pace of economic recovery from the mess we inherited.”
