An MP tried his hand at martial arts when he visited a Horsforth college.
Pudsey MP Stuart Andrew visited the National Martial Arts College in Horsforth to discover how the disciplines can have a significant impact on health and confidence.
Mr Andrew also discussed ways the college could get involved in more community events.
The MP was given a tour of the Horsforth premises by Master Ben Higo and he learned more about the Aegis martial arts system, which teaches respect for others as well as self-discipline and self-motivation.
Mr Andrew said: “The National Marital Arts College does not just teach martial arts – it teaches the importance of self-respect, respect for others, self-confidence, team building and self-motivation.”
Master Higo added: “We are always keen to remove the stereotypes around martial arts and explain our ethos to people and Stuart Andrew is always very welcome at the National Martial Arts College.”
