9:00am Friday 1st November 2013 in Local news
St Mary’s sixth form and year 11 students turned pink for a day last week to support Breast Cancer Research.
Sporting favourite pink items and collecting donations from students and staff throughout the Menston school, £287 was raised for this cause.
Assistant headteacher and director of sixth form Dominic Sinnett said: “It was great to see so many students and staff making a bold and bright statement in support of such a good cause.”
Students in years seven to ten also took part in a non-uniform day, each making a donation of £1.
A total of £657 was raised, half of the proceeds going to the school’s Student Voice and the other half supporting the chosen charities: St Gemma’s, Martin House, Cafod and Catholic Care.
