Snapshots of Yorkshire for new exhibition
10:00am Wednesday 30th October 2013 in Local news
Anyone with a passion for Yorkshire is being encouraged to enter a competition that could see their work displayed alongside the prints of a 19th century artist.
Photographers of all ages and abilities are being invited to submit work reflecting the region into the competition – A Snapshot of Yorkshire. Entrants will be able to choose from five different categories involving working life, holidays, sport, people at home and celebration. Winners will see their pictures displayed alongside 40 prints by local artist George Walker in Abbey House Museum, as part of a wider exhibition celebrating Yorkshire.
Contestants are asked to e-mail their entries to Yorkshire.exhibition @leeds.gov.uk along with a brief description of where and when in Yorkshire their photograph was taken, details about who is in their picture (where applicable) and which category or categories they are entering. The closing date is December 6.
Winners will also have the chance to attend a special preview of the exhibition and claim a range of Yorkshire-themed prizes.
