Family perform the opening ceremony for new Ilkley pilates studios
8:00am Monday 7th October 2013 in Local news
Two new Studios opened at Pure Pilates in Ilkley on Saturday with the opening ribbon cutting was performed by owner Kirstin Ferrie’s family and staff. Kirstin said: “My father has been instrumental in ensuring the new facilities were opened on time and all my family and staff have been tremendous in their support and hard work.”
Kirstin launched Pure Pilates in May 2010 but as her first studio was up stone steps, she was unable to work and teach those with some injuries or disability. Now by adding two more ground floor Studios, her dream of being able to teach all has become a reality. She is planning to introduce classes specifically for runners and athletes, taught by instructor and elite athlete, Nicky Green, and for teens, and is considering the possibility of introducing other disciplines with suitably qualified instructors.
Currently ages range from parent-accompanied children of 10 upwards to 82, with classes for pre and post natal mums. Pure Pilates is now actively recruiting for another teacher at a more junior level for Matwork. Visit purepilatesilkley.com for more information.
