Libraries in Ilkley and Menston will host all manner of creepy crawlies at a special reading challenge event later this month.
Children can come face to face with African snails, newts, tarantulas and scorpions at a series of ZooLab Creepy House workshops organised by Bradford Council.
Hour long workshops for four to 12-year-olds are part of the summer long programme, which aims to encourage children to read at least six books over the school summer holidays.
Due to the limited number of places available, it will be necessary to book in advance through the relevant library. Children and young people will need to join the Creepy House Summer Reading Challenge before making a reservation. The workshop will be at Menston Library on August 15, at 11am, and Ilkley Library, at 2pm, on August 20.
