Jousting, feasting and battle re-enactments will be some of the attractions on offer in a Medieval Faire at Harewood House.
The weekend event next month will also feature archery, a medieval market, encampments and an archaeological dig.
Set in the grounds of Harewood House, with the historic 14th Century castle ruins and the 15th Century All Saints Church as the backdrop, the event will take place on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27.
During the fair, poet and filmmaker Simon Warner will conduct daily tours of the castle and bring to life the stories of those who lived and worked in the Middle Ages.
Visitors will also be able to discover the archaeological dig of the 13th Century manor house that preceded Harewood House – Gawthorpe Hall, which was demolished in 1774.
With the help of historic archaeologist Emily Rayner, they will be able to find out details about the Gascoigne family who lived in the Hall for 16 generations.
