Rotary Club of Aireborough members welcome Rawdon-based paralympic cycling gold medallist David Stone to present cheques resulting from the successful Sheepstakes race night.

Paralympic gold medallist David Stone presented cheques to charities at Horsforth Gold Club – and took time out to sample the sticky toffee pudding.

The champion cyclist, who has a professed liking for the desert, gave the club’s offering a very definite thumbs up during the charity event.

Stone, who won gold in Beijing and London, was presenting cheques on behalf of the Rotary Club of Aireborough, which raised the money with a successful Sheepstakes race night.

Martin House Hospice and Chameleon, a charity which supports education in Africa, each received donations of £350.

Stone will return as a guest at the Rotary club’s annual birthday celebration, its Charter night in September.
