Otley's Emmerdale 'star' living the hay life

Fans of Emmerdale can rest assured that Wilson the horse is alive and well at a stables in Otley.
There was drama in the Yorkshire-based ITV soap this week when character Katie Macey’s beloved horse died – and she threatened to sue vets Paddy and Rhona.
However, equine actress Sapphire, who took the role of Wilson, is still going strong at Acrecliffe Equestrian Centre, Ellar Ghyll, viewers will be pleased to know.
Sapphire, who also appeared in an episode of Emmerdale several weeks ago, was picked for the role as she is used to train riders to ride sidesaddle.
The bay mare, already a favourite of many riders who visit Acrecliffe, went on two filming shoots, and a dummy horse resembling her was created for the tragic soap scene screened on Monday.
Sapphire is not planning to give up her day job, however, will continue to be a stalwart of riding lessons.
