The original Calendar Girls will be the guests of honour when an Ilkley butcher unveils his new-look shop.
David Lishman will host an evening of fun at his Leeds Road shop next Thursday to celebrate his business’s new look.
The event, from 6pm to 8pm, will see the original Calendar Girls – Tricia Stewart, Beryl Bamforth, Christine Clancy and Lynda Logan – officially cut the ribbon of sausages and get hands-on with some pork pie decorating.
Customers at the open evening will be among the first to sample Lishman’s new deli delights, fine wines and beers and exquisite coffees while at the same time, supporting the Calendar Girls’ charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
A pork pie decorating competition on the night will be judged by he Calendar Girls. Customers will be able to buy tickets for £5, with all proceeds going to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, and try their hand at putting the finishes touches to a hand-raised pork pie which they will then keep. The prize will be a bottle of sherry.
There will also be a charity raffle which will see one customer win a place on a Lishman’s butchery course.
