Four inspirational speakers left their audience brimming with enthusiasm at Ilkley Rugby Club on Friday night.
Soroptimist International of Ilkley organised a practical celebration of International Women’s Day.
Four guest speakers talked about how they had overcome challenges in their lives to achieve their success and who had inspired them to keep going.
Sales executive and mum, Caroline Shaw was joined by Rachel Feldberg, director of the Literature Festival, April Chamberlain, solicitor and founder of the Women@Work network and Suzanne Johns, MD of Ilkley based Approach PR.
The speakers were well received and the whole evening had a buzz of good humour and positivity.
Some common themes emerged relating to working hard, staying focused on your goals and hanging-on to your enthusiasm.
Other tips for success, in whatever career, included modelling the behaviour of other successful people, thinking about your personal brand and the enormous value of networking.
Soroptimist Ilkley member Anne-Mary Inglehearn said: “We’ve had some wonderful feedback from those who attended, people were really inspired.
“We’re just pleased we were able to bring this together and do something useful for the community.”
Her Ambition was supported by Bradford based social enterprise Aspire-I, who came along to give careers advice and Bradford Kickstart the enterprise support service.
