Gardener Joe to raise the roof at Ilkley's Christchurch

Tickets are selling well for a gardening talk to raise money to repair the roof of a landmark church. Gardening expert Joe Maiden will speak at Christchurch, The Grove, on Thursday, March 21, at 7pm.
Mr Maiden is a well-known gardener, horticulturist, author and presenter of a light-hearted and informative Sunday morning show with Tim Crowther on BBC Radio Leeds. His talk in Ilkley will be in aid of Christchurch’s Raise the Roof appeal which aims to repair the holes in the Victorian church’s roof to maintain it as a vibrant community building and a place of worship. Tickets are £6 and can be bought from Christchurch Café (Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm or Saturday 10am to noon) or by telephoning the Christchurch office on (01943) 603209.
