Ilkley Library books giveaway helps to celebrate national event
11:39am Friday 8th February 2013 in Local news
A mystery book giveaway and rhyme- time session will take place at Ilkley Library tomorrow to celebrate National Library Day.
A number of events in Bradford Libraries this month will mark National Library Day, celebrating the library services they offer.
A Rhyme Time event at Ilkley will see all children who attend the sessions receive a funky foam bookmark and each library has a bundle of books and a T-shirt to give away.
The library, on Station Road, will also be asking visitors to ‘Take a Chance’ and pick a book covered in brown paper which may be something that you would not have chosen but will hopefully enjoy.
Bradford Council’s executive member for employment, skills and culture, Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, said: “I know our libraries are really valued by the people who use them, so this is a great opportunity to celebrate and promote what they have to offer more widely.
“I hope people will use this day to pop into their local library and find out more about it and what they do.”
Rhyme Time will be at Ilkley Library at 10.30am, and Take a Chance giveaways will run throughout the day.
