Green Flag award bid for Ilkley garden

Trustees of Ilkley’s Darwin Gardens Millennium Green are reviewing a maintenance contract and preparing to bid for a Green Flag award.
Ilkley Parish Council, which took over the trusteeship of the Wells Road attraction in 2009, is expected to advertise the contract for the green’s maintenance shortly.
An application for funding is also expected to go to the parish council’s awards committee soon.
The council is in the process of applying for a Green Flag award, which recognise well-managed parks and open spaces.
Judging for the awards will take place during the summer.
