The King to bring festive cheer to Guiseley

The ‘King’ will bring festive cheer to diners in Guiseley in a concert featuring Elvis impersonator Aaron Martin.

Numbers from the acclaimed seasonal album Blue Christmas will be performed by Aaron in the concert at the Wetherby Whaler.

The event is being organised by the Carpetbaggers Theatre Group on the back of their successful panto at Guiseley Theatre.

They will welcome back previous show stars, including Guiseley’s very own Elvis, to sing carols for an audience of diners.

Theatregoers may remember Aaron Martin The Sound Of Elvis from the sell-out smash pantomime of Wizard Of Wharfedale in 2010, where he starred as the King in the locally-adapted tale.

He will be joined by stars of this year’s panto Robin Hood as well as performers of previous Carpetbaggers shows, When The Lights Go On Again and cabaret extravaganza One Day More, to sing traditional Christmas carols.

Carpetbaggers president Martin Holmes said: “We are very eager to give something back to Wetherby Whaler, as they have been an important source of support during our pantomime Robin Hood And His Men In Tights.”

The restaurant chain, owned by Phillip Murphy and his wife Janine, sponsored the group to help fund their 2012 pantomime, and will support them in their upcoming April show, Walkin’ Back To Happiness.

The concert will take place on Saturday, December 22, at 3pm. For table bookings, call The Wetherby Whaler on (01943) 884228.
