The Clarke Foley Centre was a hive of activity on Saturday during Ilkley Homemakers’ annual Christmas event.
The occasion offers local charities and voluntary organisations the opportunity to raise their profiles and much-needed funds.
About 17 organisations attended the event, including Rotary and the Inner Wheel, NSPCC, Martin House, the Beamsley Project, Caring for Life, Horticap, the Amateur Operatic Society and the Ilkley-Coutances Twinning Committee.
A host of stalls selling Christmas cards and gifts, craft work and mouth-watering home baking and preserves were on offer.
The event was proclaimed by Town Crier Chris Richards and officially declared open just after 10am by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Dale Smith.
Ilkley Homemakers is an independent women’s interest group offering monthly lectures and meetings. They also support local charities – their chosen beneficiary from this year’s Christmas fair was The Samaritans.
