Guiseley pupils meet author of fantasy tale
8:00am Friday 30th November 2012 in Local news By Annette McIntyre
Author Antonia Crawford with Tom Marshall and Lydia Smith and her children’s fantasy book
Young people got the chance to put questions to an author when she visited their school.
AM Crawford visited Guiseley School Technology college on Friday to promote her first novel The Titan Prophecy: Rise Of The Dark One.
She talked to students and staff throughout the day about her book and what inspired her to write, as well as sharing creative writing tips and signing copies of her work.
The book, which is aimed at 11 to 14-year-olds, is the first of four tracing the adventures of two boys and a girl back and forth into the ancient world.
Grounded in ancient Greek myths, it has been described by the author as an “epic fantasy story” and is her first foray into children’s fiction.
AM Crawford has been a journalist for many years and had to fit writing her book around her work as a freelance journalist and copywriter.
The book is available to buy on amazon and through the website thetitanprophecy.com.
English teacher Robert Brown described her visit to the school as “inspirational for budding creative writers.”
