An eco-friendly new Burley-in-Wharfedale company is putting the environment at the heart of its business.

Woodbuds is marketing a range of hardwood earphones, made from wood grown in sustainable plantations, including a ‘bio-cable’ and 100 per cent recyclable packaging.

Founders Chris Holmes, 25, of Burley, and Simon Inman, 39, of Harrogate, are keeping up with environmental credentials by working with the Woodland Trust to plant a tree in the UK for every 100 sets of earphones sold.

Mr Holmes said: “We have ambitions to plant 1,000 trees in two years, and we see that being totally possible, so long as people join with us.”
