Astrologer praises town's rising poetry stars

Astrologer Michael Conneely is behind a new poetry group in Ilkley.
A fringe event at Ilkley Literature Festival has spawned a new poetry group in the town.
The circle of writers was formed after readings by poet and astrologer Michael Conneely at Ilkley’s Happiness Centre last week.
The monthly group will aim to offer new and more established poets the opportunity to have their work heard and to support and develop ideas. It will meet on the second Monday of each month between 7.30pm and 8.45pm at the Happiness Centre on Leeds Road.
Following the fringe event, Mr Conneely said: “I have previously been in poetry groups in Wells, Glastonbury and Plymouth, but the poetry here tonight included some exceptionally beautiful and visionary work, as well as heartfelt poems from quite new beginners to writing poetry.”
