Among those taking part in the workshops were Ellora, seven, and Kieran Green, six, from Otley.
Children enjoyed the colourful art of traditional Indian story-telling on Saturday as part of Ilkley Literature Festival.
Yorkshire arts organisation Manasamitra explored the Magical Word of Mina during two workshops at All Saints Primary School, Ilkley,encouraging youngsters to have their faces painted and dress up.
The session was based on the Panchatantra tales, a legendary collection of short stories from the second century BC which have a strong, moral tale.
