A student from Addingham has had her long hair snipped off to provide wigs for youngsters who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment.
Jessica Doherty followed in the footsteps of singer Jessie J by agreeing to donate her own hair to The Little Princess Trust – and raising sponsorship to create wigs for children.
Miss Doherty, who is studying in Preston, is a long-time member of Addingham Pantomime Group, and the group opted to help out by collection £1,200 during performances earlier this year.
She also set up a Just Giving page. Her target was to raise £350, which is the cost to make one wig. The total has just about reached £1,400 which is enough for four wigs.
Stylist Jayne Neilson at Cameo Hair & Beauty Salon in Addingham agreed to cutting and styling Miss Doherty’s hair free of charge.
