METHODIST CHURCH: Morning worship for Mothering Sunday was led by Joan Bosomworth from Bramhope. Mrs Bosomworth’s children’s address consisted of a poem relating to Snow White and the Seven Dwarves Part 2 and was much enjoyed by the older as well as the younger members of the congregation! At the end of the service, daffodils were given out to all the ladies in the congregation. Those attending the Lent lecture on March 24 describing the work of Caring for Life in Cookridge were moved and impressed by the work that is done by that organisation, and we would very much commend The Granary Restaurant at Crag House Farm, the profits from which go to support the work of Caring for Life. Help is needed from friends of all the local churches for the erection of the Easter Cross on the Chevin on Saturday. Volunteers are asked to be at Surprise View car park at 9.15am. The weekly Lent lunches continue each Friday from noon until 1.30pm at the Methodist Church, providing soup and a roll for a donation to Christian Aid, and is open to all. Holy communion will be celebrated by the Rev John Lambert at 9am on Sunday followed by First Sunday morning worship at 10.30am led by Matt Burland.
