More than 30 people gave of their time as part of international volunteer event Sewa Day to help conserve Ilkley Moor.

Working with the Friends of Ilkley Moor on Sunday, volunteers helped fence off areas to protect saplings in a stand of pine trees on the moor. Seeds will be scattered in these areas later in the year. Sewa principles, originating from Indian tradition, involve performing an act of kindness without expectation of reward. On Sewa Day, thousands of people across the world come together to perform work for good causes.

The Friends thanked all those who helped with the project.
